FAQs About Christmas at Victoria Alliance Church

  • What time is your Christmas Eve service?

We will have two Christmas Eve services on Wednesday December 23. A Family Service at 4pm and a Traditional Candlelight service at 6pm.

  • Do I need an invitation to join?

No! All of our services are open to the public. If you’ve taken a look around our website and feel like we’re the place for you, please come. It would be our joy and privilege to welcome you warmly.

  • Where do I park?

We have a small parking lot which includes three handicap spaces. Additional parking is available across the street at Lansdowne Middle School South Campus. If you are able, please consider parking across the street to leave our parking lot free for those who need it most.

  • What should I wear?

Whatever you’d like! Some people love some extra sparkle on Christmas Eve (looking at Pastor Bekah and her sparkle dress that likes to make an appearance ;) ), while others come straight from work and choose what’s most comfortable for them. You’ll notice a little bit of everything when you join us.

  • Is your church accessible?

All bodies are good bodies, created by God with beauty and worth. While our building is old and has many quirks (we’re working on it!), we work hard to ensure everyone feels well cared for on our site. If you need accommodation or guidance, please ask a volunteer or staff member upon arrival.

Here’s what you need to know about accessibility at Victoria Alliance Church:

    • Three accessible parking spaces are available in our parking lot
    • Accessible washroom stalls in men’s and women’s washrooms, as well as an all-gender accessible washroom on the gym level. These include high toilets and handrails.
    • Child change tables are in men’s, women’s, and all-gender accessible washrooms
    • Ramps lead to both Front Sanctuary and Front Basement entrances. The gym wing is accessible via the parking lot.
    • A transport chair is available upon request. All of our greeters are trained in its use and would be happy to help anyone conserve their energy for the service by assisting them into the building. Just give our volunteers a wave from the bottom of the ramp at the front of our building and we’ll come on out!
    • Hearing Assistance is available via the AudioFetch App. (Download it for Apple or Android.) Ask a volunteer for support with this. Headphones are recommended if you do not have Bluetooth enabled hearing aids.
    • A quieter room with a window to the sanctuary is available at any time for feeding infants, or for listening to the service from a different space. This space is primarily used by caregivers of children, and is open to anyone who might need a different space to be during worship.

  • Can I watch services online if I can’t attend in person?

Absolutely! Our 6pm Candlelight service will be available online live (with a chat to say hi) or after the service is over. Click here to join in!
