It has been a while since our last update, and we have much to let you know.  After a pause on all work due to Covid-19, we are now underway with the work on our church property frontage.

While digging deep beneath the surface to ensure our services are updated to serve our future needs, our workers discovered something that was unknown and unseen: an old underground oil tank.  It is a difficult turn of events for our project, as it has put us on pause yet again while we do the important work to restore and care for the earth we are entrusted to steward well. It is also, as you can imagine, an unexpected expense.  Remediation now complete, yesterday the contractors began work to re-fill the pit with crushed rock and restore our grade appropriately.  It is assuring to know that our children will one day have a play area that is both welcoming and safe.

Another significant development is that it is now believed that we may be able to retain the use of our front ramp during the course of further construction.  The engineers collaborated well with our team and with our contractor to come up with a solution.  This is an important feat, as it was well heard by our committee at the previous GM that continued accesibility for those with unique requirements is important to all in our faith community.  We continue to pray that this proposed solution will, in fact, be acheived.

Looking ahead
