Certainly the faithful love of the Lord hasn’t ended; certainly God’s compassion isn’t through! They are renewed every morning. Great is your faithfulness.

- Lamentations 3:22-23

Last night the Church Leadership Team of Victoria Alliance Church met for an extraordinary meeting in response to the COVID – 19 pandemic to ensure that we are taking all the necessary measures to love one another by keeping one another safe and healthy.

The decision has been made to suspend ALL groups, gatherings, and events at this time.

We hope you will appreciate that this decision is not made lightly or easily, but prayerfully and thoughtfully. We are confident that God is as active today as He has always been. We know that Jesus will build and deepen the connections in our faith community as we learn together what it means to connect and support each other in the coming days.

Let us be people who pick up the phone and connect with one another. We need increased “touches” like these in a touch-less season. When someone comes to mind, take a moment to check in with them, and ask how you can best be praying for them.

Let us be people in the Word of God. The temptation to obsess on the constant barrage of information will be great. Protect your time and give your focus to the timeless scriptures as a source of comfort, encouragement, and discipleship for these days.

Let us be people of prayer. The Lord’s eyes are on the righteous and his ears are open to their prayers. (1Peter 3:12). The boundless power of Jesus to be healer, saviour, sanctifier and coming King is the same today and everyday. Pray, then, with the confidence that Jesus has good plans. May His Kingdom and His will be done!

Let us be people of great hope. The events of recent days are revealing the limitations to the places and the systems in which we so often place our hope. Jesus is still our One True Hope, and is on the move to bring hope to the hopeless, good news to all people, and peace on earth. Refrain from adding to the noise of our world, and instead with a clear voice, take the opportunity to proclaim your hope and trust in Jesus to meet our every need.
