What to Expect

Sundays at Victoria Alliance Church

Probably the best way to discover who we are is to come check us out either onsite or online. We would enjoy getting to know who you are too!

  • Two Ways to Join Us

    Online at 10:30 am

Join us for our live-streamed online service. Our chat opens at 10:15 am, and the service begins at 10:30 am

    Onsite at 10:30 am

Join us for an onsite worship service at our church building located at 1792 Townley Street. We truly desire to be a community that welcomes all. If there are accommodations that we are able to make so that your onsite experience goes smoothly, please feel free to contact us in advance at the church office.

  • The Service

Our service is led by volunteer leaders and musicians and features both contemporary and traditional music, as well as Scripture reading and prayers of the people. Worship is followed by a message intended to bring to life the teachings of the Bible in a way that will encourage, uplift, and challenge each listener. Diverse voices are valued by our community, and both women and men are released to preach the Gospel at Victoria Alliance Church.

Out of an effort to keep everyone healthy, we do not collect an offering as a part of our services to reduce touch-points. It is our practice to invite newcomers to simply enjoy the service as our gift to you. For those who consider Victoria Alliance Church home, or for those who wish to join with our generous community in giving, click here for more information.

We typically celebrate the Lord’s Table (sometimes called Communion or the Eucharist) every second Sunday of the month, and this practice is open to anyone who wishes to partake.

Hearing Assistance is available. See Accessibility Accommodations below.

  • Kids’ Sunday Programming

We offer creative, age-appropriate programming throughout the year to help kids discover who God is and grow in their faith.

    School Year (Sep-Jun):

Pre K - Grade 5: Kids join in on the first 15 minutes of the service. After the second set of songs and during the prayers of the people, volunteers will guide kids to:

    • Rainbow Room – Pre K
    • Graceland – K to Grade 5

    Summer Months (Jul-Aug):

FamJam – For ages 2 to completed Grade 2, FamJam is a relaxed, family-style program with games, stories, and outdoor play. It meets in Graceland at the usual kids’ dismissal time. Please apply sunscreen beforehand and label water bottles if needed.

  • Accessibility Accommodations

All bodies are good bodies, created by God with beauty and worth. While our building is old and has many quirks (we’re working on it!), we work hard to ensure everyone feels well cared for on our site. If you need accommodation or guidance, please ask a volunteer or staff member upon arrival.

Here’s what you need to know about accessibility at Victoria Alliance Church:

    • Three accessible parking spaces are available in our parking lot
    • Accessible washroom stalls in men’s and women’s washrooms, as well as an all-gender accessible washroom on the gym level. These include high toilets and handrails.
    • Child change tables are in men’s, women’s, and all-gender accessible washrooms
    • Ramps lead to both Front Sanctuary and Front Basement entrances. The gym wing is accessible via the parking lot.
    • A transport chair is available upon request, all of our greeters are trained in its use and would be happy to help anyone conserve their energy for the service by assisting them into the building.
    • Hearing Assistance is available via the AudioFetch App. (Download it for Apple or Android.) Ask a volunteer for support with this. Headphones are recommended if you do not have Bluetooth enabled hearing aids.
    • A quieter room with a window to the sanctuary is available at any time for feeding infants, or for listening to the service from a different space. This space is primarily used by caregivers of children, and is open to anyone who might need a different space to be during worship.
